CChurch work, repairs and window guards Leaded lights and Stained Glass Windows may after many years start to bow and let in water. They need to be taken out, stripped down, re-leaded and water proofed.Any broken panes can be matched to the original from our large stocks of glass. The panels are then re-glazed into the window onto non-ferrous saddle bars to protect the stone mullions. |
Painted glass can be restored by plating the broken fragments. If the piece is so badly broken that it is beyond repair or if it is missing like in the panel on the right, a new pane can be painted and fired to match the original by using the techniques of the original artist. P

When the restored window is refitted it may need protection against vandalism by ftting window guards. There are two types of window guards, black coated stainless steel wire guards and Polycarbonate. Both are shaped to suit the requierments of the windows. |

Stainless steel guards are made in the traditional way but they have the added benifit of not rusting and damaging the stone work. |
Polycarbonate guards give clear protection and are very strong making them a good deterant against vandals. |
| We have restored windows and fitted guards and metal frames for projects funded by English Heritage, local Authorities and Dioceses throughout the country. |
